Hello,

I am setting up a guest user account on my computer on Mac OSX 10.8 but I always have three external drives connected to my computer, one of which is a backup drive. I want to prohibit anyone on the guest account to modify or even see these drives, how can I do that on the mac?

You can do this easier with "Get Info" in the Finder.

Select "Get Info" on the drive, click the Padlock, enter password, next change Everyone to No Access, do this on all the drives, they can't be accessed by Guests.
See Screenshot.
