I'm currently using Mavericks on a 2011 MPB but will shortly be upgrading to Yosemite.

I run a Windows VM (using VMware Fusion 7) and this creates a 450GB file locally.

My Mac is backed up using TimeMachine to an external hard disk, but I have had to exclude the VM file as even opening the VM changes the file and requires a full sync of the 450GB again!

I currently back it up manually periodically, but it takes 5 hours to do.

What I am looking for is a block-lvele file copy-sync tool for Mac that will let me copy only the changed blocks of the file, so if only 200MB has changed, then only 200MB gets copied. I don't mind having to manually run the tool, but it's the 5 hour wait that I currently find annoying.

Does anyone have any suggestions on a suitable tool?

Thanks in advance.
