I got a call today from "Blocked" and answered it. It was a bunch of pre-recorded one liners trying to make a scary prank call. It seemed it was a computer that would listen to when you were done talking and then spit something out. the first time it was meant to be a scary asian police man. another some dumb guy asking if i tortured my dogs. you get the idea..prank calls. it said some of the lines more then once which made it a little more obvious.

I would assume that this was just someone with a pranking toy connected to a phone that blocked caller ID, but in "recent calls" it lists it as "blocked caller", and blocked caller ID =/= blocked number.

Anyone one enlighten me on this?

Yeah. It maybe have been "have you tortured your dog" but it was clearly just pre recorded one liners that didn't really go together.

Most likely the prank caller was just using *67 or turned off "show called ID" option. But you bring up the point it was pre-recorded thus it could be someone called from they're computer using voice over IP (IE; Skype, iCall, ect).

I believe there is an option to block unknown numbers in settings though :)

It was probably one of your friends. I've been pranked by the Arnold Schwarzennegger soundboard more than once and it always turned out to be a friend.

Laugh it off.

LOL. That's actually pretty funny.

My little sister and her friends prank called 75 people one night at like 3AM at a sleepover!!!:eek: They didn't *67 either, so she got a bunch of calls on her phone from PISSED people who were threatening to call the police. LOL

We got her number changed.

I have never prank called anyone; I'd laugh too hard and give it away. :D

On a separate but related note, has anyone been getting those fake car insurance calls???? It's automated and apparently if you let it finish the message it asks you for information that can be used to hack bank accounts.

Interestingly enough, the iPhone can recognize Area Codes and tell you where calls are coming from as long as they aren't *67.
