I was trying to connect to this WiFi network which I should have been able to access, I had 2/3 bars of signal and as far as I know the network is fully online. Yet when I try to connect my iPod Touch says it cannot connect to it - doesnt even prompt me for a password. Any ideas on the problem?

Compare the ip address of your WiFi network against the one assigned with the touch. They should have the same values except for the last string. Example: 192.168.1.XXX

The wireless network could have MAC address filtering on, which means if the hardware address of your wireless card isn't on a pre-approved list you can't connect. You can get the MAC address of your iPod by going to settings, general, about. the MAC address is the string shown against "Wi Fi Address" at the bottom of the list.

So if I provide my MAC addresss to the network admin it should allow me access?
