I seem to recall a setting in the airport utility
you could check where only devices listed in your Airport settings which you had granted access to could access your airport and use your WiFi connection. Anyone else remember this?

As it stands now, I can enter a device by its MAC address and set limits as to when a device can be online, but otherwise, anyone with a device and my password can get on my airport as well. I’d like it to only let people on who are authorized by me.

Any help?

I think you'll find the option to do this in the "Airport Utility".
That's all I can offer...

I'm not at home at the moment but I think it's under 'Timed Access'. If I recall correctly you add the permitted clients with 24-hour access and then set no access for any unlisted clients.

Ok, this is making sense now. Here is just a partial list of items I’ve entered in my times access settings:

That first one which is called UNLIMITED - is that the one that gets applied to any device trying to get on my network that I don’t have listed?? This is a default setting, and is set to ALL DAY, EVERYDAY.

If I set that one to NO ACCESS, ALL DAY, then do I understand correctly that devices not listed below will automatically be blocked from accessing my network?? And any device I have listed will be given access according to the schedule set for that device??

I'm home now so I opened mine up. I have an entry for 'No Access (default)' which applies to any unlisted clients. I can change the name but it always has (default) appended.

You appear to have a different version of AirPort Utility as mine (version 6.3.9) doesn't have arrows next to the devices.

My screenshot was from my iPhone or iPad. I think yours is from a laptop or desktop. That may be the difference. I’ll check via my laptop in the morning to see if that unlimited setting says default. Now, back to episode 14, season 7 of The Blacklist.

Here’s my screenshot from my MBA. And yes, it shows the default setting, which I have changed to NO ACCESS. Hopefully this blocks everyone not on my list. If so, I will have solved my problem with the help of you good folks. And for that, I thank you all!!
