So I saw a Bloomberg story today that suggested a new iPhone in September. That in and of itself is not real news, but whomever the source was suggested that Apple was considering stopping the guarantee that all apps would work on all phones, particularly the 3G or 3GS.

I still have a 3G, which I haven't updated because money has been tight for awhile now. With AT&T now selling the 3GS for $49, I am seriously considering that. But when I saw this story, it made me think twice about doing it.

I'm troubled by that. I noticed a hairline crack on the back case near the mute switch. I like the 4 but cannot buy a phone with a glass casing. I don't want to buy a case to cover up what is a beautiful phone but this story also said that the next iPhone will have similar form factor, which was disappointing too.

Has anyone heard if they are really considering having apps not work on the 3GS or is that just inaccurate news?
