With media prices at 5 $ and burners at 6x it´s about time we can get an external BR burner for Mac both for data and for burning DVDs. Any news about it? Any news about DVD Studio Authoring BR?

I suspect you already know some of this, but there are already Blu-Ray burners that you can hook up to your Mac to burn data, but you can't use them for authoring Blu-Ray movies. Quite simply, this is because you can't use them for viewing Blu-Ray movies either. OSX is not currently equipped to decode Blu-Ray. I don't think there's any chance of DVD Studio Pro getting Blu-Ray support before OSX does.
