Hi all,

Question, I discovered Handbrake today....LOVE it!! I've already transferred a regular DVD to my itunes....question is will it work the same way with a Blue Ray DVD or will I have to do something different?? Getting ready to add movies to my new ipad2!!

Thanks!
Dan

Handbreak can handle unencrypted blurays, but not encrypted ones (like pretty much any movie you might buy.) You need a program to disable the encryption (and updates since the encryption evolves due to the technical specs of the format.) I use Anydvd HD for that.

Hi all,...with a Blue Ray DVD...

Thanks!
Dan
Not to be a stickler but there is no such thing as a Blue Ray DVD. That is like saying a "DVD CD". It's a Blu-ray Disc or BD.;)

Also while I use a Mac I also have a PC and use a program called AnyDVD HD to remove DRM and Clown to rip.

The best program to rip DVDs or bluray is makemkv. I use that then handbrake to get an apple tv/iPad friendly file.
