I haven't personally used that but have a Sony blu-ray RW drive in my Hackintosh. It worked well until the drive decided it would never burn a disk again (hardware fault).

Just thought I'd post to let you know that if you're going to use it, StackSocial has a deal on and it includes Mac Blu-ray player which I've been happy with.

Also, you might want to consider getting an internal drive (people have recommended the LG CA30N on here) and putting it in a case like this: http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/290718579139?ssPageName=STRK:MEWAX:IT&_trksid=p3984.m1423.l2649 as that would make it look like an Apple external drive

Ive been looking to purchase a blue ray for my new Imac that will be here by the end of the week.

I found this one on amazon - anyone have any experence with it?

I would wait for the Pioneer Mac Blu Ray Player to make it to the US (launched in Japan this month).

It should be under $200 and comes with blu ray SOFTWARE, which makes it cheaper than a player without software already, and it's higher quality.
