Blue screen on startup? (not sure if this is the right area or not)

Anyway, I believe this an OS X related problem, not hardware. My MBP refuses to start up correctly. It gives me a normal blue screen (as any mac would) and then it changes to a slightly lighter blue color and sticks like that. Since I'll be away today and won't need my MBP, I'll leave at that screen to see if it does anything. Oh, and by the way, the MBP is the Early '08 Rev. w/512mb 8600m.
