Blue tooth headset; can it work with apps?

Just bought a bluetooth headset. Does it work with anything other than the phone? Specifically interested in voice recorders like Jott. Mine doesn't seem to but I'm not sure if I'm missing anything.

it should be possible if the app supports it. Netshare had access to the Bluetooth.
