I bought an iPhone 13pro. Love it. But the screen turns blueish when viewed off axis - even from a small angle. I know it’s an OLED thing, but my wife’s 12 doesn’t do it as much. Got it on eBay - private seller - so can’t ask for a replacement or return it. Would the apple store replace the screen or swap it for a new phone? The store I booked an appointment at seems to offer screen replacements, the website says, but I wonder if that’s only the glass when you break the screen or the OLED panel too. I’d need the latter.
I’d personally prefer a screen replacement - hoping the new one is better.. - rather than starting the swapping game (and possibly end up with a worse screen and a serial on the box that doesn’t match the serial of the phone).

All normal.
I was just at the apple store. Several iPhone13 pros on display did exactly the same thing (1 or 2 even worse!). But a few did not. Those few ones did not turn blueish when lightly tilted. They tended to keep the original tone.

The genius could see what I was talking about. He was hesitant but booked me in for a screen repair. He seems to be aware of the issue and knows that there are better and worse screens out there. Hence the replacement screen could be better or worse.
He was clear that this is a one time only thing and they won’t replace it again if this one Isn’t right.

Unsure what to do now. I certainly can’t simply accept this screen, where even in the act of showing something to someone next to me, one can see a huge variation in colour. I’ve seen plenty of other OLED screens that don’t do it.

Hence a bit unsure what you mean by normal… as I did see iP13pro with a screen that doesn’t do what mine does. Are those super normal? :)
Meaning oled has variances some more prone to off axis color shift than others. I had a Samsung S21 Ultra that color shifted with minute angles. It wasn’t right. Exchanged it and the replacement was “normal” color shift for me.

Ah that makes sense.
I misunderstood your comment - thought you meant what I experienced with mine was normal.
But I agree that normal is a bit subjective.

It was eventually replaced. It still does it a bit, but to a much lesser degree and I’m happy to leave with that remaining level now. This feels more acceptable
