hey im new to macrumors and long story short im a noob. I was on the apple.com forums but i could not find a resolution to my problem. i would take my mbp to the genius bar but my warranty is out.

here's the problem
just recently my logitech mouse has stopped working so i decided to save up and but a magic mouse. however before purchasing it i wanted to see if my mbp had bluetooth and was in working condition. however when ever i try to pair it up with any other bluetooth device i get a message saying "No Bluetooth Hardware Found" and when i go to About This Mac>More Info under Bluetooth it says No Information Found.

What I've Tried
- turning off the mbp on and off
- removing the bottom cover and disconnected the battery
- while on boot up press and hold the power button for a hard restart

Should i do a complete restore? as in restore using the given Mac OSX cds? i tried restoring with time machine but no luck there.

I was wondering if anyone else has had this problem and resolved it. I need my mouse for school work and the multi touch pad gets annoying to use for countless hours. Is there anything i am missing or trouble shooting incorrectly? If so please feel free to give advice or insight on this problem.

But i know for sure i had bluetooth working before because i was able to sync my old blackberry before via bluetooth.

thanks in advance and appreciate it
