Bluetooth 4.0 upgrade – possible?

I understand that the Macbook Pro gained Bluetooth 4.0 in the late 2011 refresh. Will it be possible to upgrade an early 2011 Macbook Pro with a Bluetooth 4.0 module?

Not sure where you got that information, but the newest MBPs still only have Bluetooth 2.1 EDR.

The iPhone 4S has Bluetooth 4.0, though.

Oh really? I thought I heard that the Mac Mini gained Bluetooth 4.0 in the summer update, and assumed that the late 2011 refresh brought the Macbook Pro into line...

Edit: just checked the Apple website – you're right. Seems the late 2011 update was more minor than I thought.
