I'm currently using a 2018 MBP 15" to run Apple Classroom (iPad management software - view iPad screens live etc.), and to function the software needs wifi and bluetooth on. It's very useful software, but in large classes (50 - 100+ student exams) I worry about wireless connectivity issues.
As far as I am aware, all student iPads need to be on the same network and bluetooth must be on as mentioned. I am now about to purchase an iPad to use as the controlling device and will get either a 10.5" iPad Pro or the new 10.5" Air. I would rather buy the Pro, but the only thing concerning me is that the Pro only has BT 4.2, while the Air has BT 5.0.
Could someone tell me what impact BT 5.0 vs 4.2 would have in my situation?
I have read up a bit and it seems that BT 5.0 is much faster and has a much greater range (which I would think would be very important for my situation), but I don't exactly understand how Apple Classroom works to control the iPads using both wifi and BT, or if in fact BT speed even matters that much?
I know my question is not specifically MBP related, but it is the device I am currently using (and I don't have an iPad) so I thought this would be the best place to start.
Any help would be much appreciated!
