I have a BlueAnt Q2 headset, iPhone 4 (previously running I believe 4.3.3, upgraded to 5.0 last night).
I have had this issue ever since getting the BlueAnt headset 3 or 4 months ago.
It works 100% fine for phone calls, but when I try to listen to music it has a constant break in the music, making it unbearable to listen to. At first it seemed to just have a break in the music every 20 seconds or so... so while incredibly irritating, it was still functional to listen to music for short periods of time when I felt like dealing with the irritation.
Now, I can't go 3 seconds without it stuttering. Constantly, no matter what I do. I have put it on Airplane mode and tested it that way, still same issue.
I have put the phone an inch away from the headset and it still doesn't improve, so it's not a in-pocket/proximity issue.
I was really hoping that iOS5 was going to fix the issue... I hate corded headphones, and have a 45 minute subway commute every morning that would go by quicker with some music.
I have spent all morning Googling, and the only things I can find are related to people having issues with their in-vehicle bluetooth systems, but nobody else seems to have this problem with iPhone 4/BlueAnt Q2.
Any suggestions on how I can resolve this? I have unpaired/repaired it too... in fact, when I did the iOS5 update I started from a completely fresh slate - recopied all my music over, and reconfigured the headset.
Thanks!
