I did ask on another thread, but no replies so thought I should start a new thread about this particular question.
When attaching an external antenna, can the cable sheath/ground be connected to the Mac's chassis?
I am using an SMA connector for an external antenna and really want to fix that to the back of the Mac so the antenna cable can be connected and disconnected just like all the other cables. But is this electrically correct?
I know that the earth/ground/shield should be common, but it's possible Apple have kept them isolated. Can anyone confirm that they are common and so it's ok to bolt the SMA connector to the chassis?
