Bluetooth connection with Cing 8125

I'm having a problem getting the Macbook and the 8125 to talk. I enter the passkey in the 8125 and the computer says it's connected, but the phone then asks me to set up the connection as a serial port. My headset connection on the 8125 just connects after the passkey. What's going on that I don't understand. I only have the headset and the Mac set as devices on the Cingular 8125.
