Bluetooth Connectivity

I can easily connect my 5s with my Kenmore unit in the Prius, but all other connections with our early-2008 iMacs or recent AppleTV ain't happening with Bluetooth. I think the TV looks for a keyboard, and I'm guessing the 4.00 Bluetooth setup is a snob about older versions, but I hesitate to order headphones or a keyboard if they won't hook up. (Have a keyboard cover designed for iPad 2 which works fine.)


AirDrop and AirPlay work excellent well most every time, so what's with the rest of the Bluetooth possibilities?

Here is a list of the supported Bluetooth profiles. About the only thing you can do with an iMac (or any computer) is personal hotspot (if your cellular plan includes that). http://support.apple.com/kb/HT3647
