My IP6 and my wifes IP6+ (to a lesser extent) both disconnect and reconnect very frequently in the car. our 5S's did not have this problem. has something changed, is this a known problem?

i would say if i take a call over the cars bluetooth i will connect/disconnect 4-5 times in the course of a 30 minute call.

Do you happen to drive a Ford with Microsoft SYNC? Bluetooth disconnectivity is a common problem with them. Take our 2010 Taurus for example, we bought it in about January (?) and my dad would listen to music on the car radio via bluetooth. Well about 3 and a half weeks later, it wouldnt play the audio. A little research and he found that our issue is pretty common with SYNC.

My iPhone 6 does the same thing. i will get the message every so often that my car connected to my phone. didn't happen at all with my 5. maybe its the newer bluetooth tech in the 6 and the older bluetooth tech from the car.

What car is it?

It happens all the bloody time in my Mercedes, but not my Volvo.
