Hey guys,

Me and my friend both have macbooks... I wanna exchange a 2.5 gig file to her. Can I do this via bluetooth? Thanks.

Trevor

You could... But the question is, would you really want to ;)

Bluetooth is very slow, you'd be looking at waiting a good few hours for it to transfer

A better solution would be to setup an ad-hoc network.

Something along the lines of - Click the airport menu, select create, and follow the prompts, then join from the other machine. Turn on file sharing from the sharing pref in system preferences.

This will be many many times faster, but it will still take some time.

Or, better yet, if you have an ethernet cable handy, hook the 2 machines together, give them each an IP and turn on file sharing, this will be faster again than using airport

I would go into more detail, but i've got to go...
