My iMac (late 2013) OS 10.15.7 has thrown up a puzzler. I have Sony WH1000 XM4 headphones; they work with all devices other than the iMac.
The headphones pair as they should with the iMac and appear in sound preferences, blue tooth preferences etc but there is no sound. Interestingly if I open sound preferences, choose input (not output) and highlight WH1000 XM4 there is sound, however highly degraded.
All other bluetooth headphones work fine with the iMac.
Have tried bluetooth debugging, resetting PRAM etc, all to no avail, any suggestions gratefully accepted.
