I have the logitech bluetooth headphones for the old iPod. I was wondering if anyone knew if I could connect them straight to my iphone's bluetooth without using the dongle.

If so does anyone know how to put the headphones in discovery mode?

Thanks.

The iPhone only supports bluetooth headsets (for phone use).
To get iPod stuff (music, podcasts) over bluetooth, you'll been some sort of transmitter attached to the iPhone.

I got an "iCombi" transmitter for ~$50, which is small and draws its power from the iPhone itself (don't need to worry about charging it, doesn't seem to be too bad on the iPhone's battery. Supports volume, play-pause, and track controls, too.

The negative is that it doesn't always stay perfectly connected to the iPhone--jiggling the phone while it's attached can cause problems.
