Bluetooth headset for use with Skype

I'm thinking of giving skype a go using my macbook and a bluetooth headset. Has anyone had any experience of this? Will any bluetooth headset work? I've never used a bluetooth headset in the past with my mobile/cell so what's the quality like? Would I be better just getting a USB handset? Macbook was bought about 3 months after they came out, currently running 10.4.10

Edit: just done a quick search and someone else has used a BT headset with a MBP... but he had issues with skype, i take it things have improved since then?

Maybe not the place to ask but I'm going with Skype (my gf is PC based) is this the only mac to pc option we have to Voip chat?
