I have accumulated 3 bluetooth headsets over the years, a Samsung WEP200, Samsung WEP500 and just recently a Jawbone 2. The WEP200 and Jawbone do not seem to communicate with the iPhone directly. What I mean by that is when I have the headsets paired with the iPhone and then push the talk or action button on the headset, nothing happens on the iPhone. So the iPhone seems to communicate with the headset (when you dial a number and the headset is paired, the audio is activated in the headset) but not the other way around. And that is great because sometimes you accidentally push the talk/action button on your headset while it's in your pocket or bag and you don't want it to dial the last number on your phone. With the WEP500, there does seem to be 2 way communication. When I push the talk/action button on the headset, it automatically dials the last number used on the phone (incoming or outgoing call). Although the 500 is a great headset, it is probably the worst designed bluetooth in history because the talk/action button is right on the edge which makes it impossible not to push when in your pocket. So it is basically unusable with the iPhone because it is constantly dialing the last number. It is odd that 2 headsets do not have this 2 way communication but a 3rd does. Is there any way to turn off that functionality on the iPhone for the WEP500 so it won't dial out numbers?
