I am having no end of issues with my Bluetooth headset after upgrading to Yosemite.

I mainly use the Bluetooth headset for watching movies. It is a cheap free one that I got with a laptop I purchased a few years ago. I estimate that it is at least four or five years old.

The Bluetooth headset used to work perfectly until I upgraded to Yosemite. At first I had issues with the range of the headset. On mavericks, I used to be able to put the laptop down and go to the other end of the house and I would still have good reception. Unfortunately now the Bluetooth headset only works if I keep my head position a certain way with the laptop on my lap - if I turn my head perpendicular to the laptop, the audio starts to skip.

The more annoying problem is that sometimes the audio will go out of sync with the video -- typically the video will be about one or two seconds ahead of the audio that I am hearing on my Bluetooth headset. The only way to fix this is to power off the Bluetooth headset, and re-pair it. Sometimes this will resolve the fault for a few minutes, other times it won't happen again for that session.

I have quickly googled for Bluetooth issues on Yosemite but can't quite come up with anything. Does anyone here have anything to add?
