Hey All,

Looking for some bluetooth in ear headphones and honestly cant decide what I want. Having an iphone I really like the samsung icon x (But dont know if i want them since i cant get the app for them on the iphone). Wasnt a huge fan of the airpods, they hurt my ears too much to wear for any more time than 1-2 hours.

Was looking at Beats X, Jaybird X4, and a few others.. Just not sure how i feel about the neck wrap on the Beats X

My only complaint on the Beats X is the length. The neck band part doesn’t bother me, just wish they were shorter overall. The magnetic feature on earbuds is a must for me. I do not believe Jaybirds have such. I wish the PowerBeats 3 and Beats X would have a baby.

Yeah, I am not huge on the length of the wires, but also not huge on the thick part that sits around the neck . But I do love the magnetic part!

The icon x 2018 is a great pair of truly wireless buds TBH..Ive used them and the airpods for the last year on my iPhone and pixel the lack of app on the iPhone isn't the biggest deal in the world TBH and if u have an Android lying around or a friend with an Android u can install the app and change the settings and they will remain when u pair them up to the iPhone again..but if the airpods hurt ur ears the icon x are slightly heavier and might hurt even more since they are in ear..I have a Jaybird X3 and they're great as a backup pair but I don't use them all that much cause it's not completely wireless..I'm sure the x4 are great.

The airpods hurt from the shape/size of them, not the weight. I want to lik them so much but i just cant wear them for long at all (I sit at a desk 8 hours a day, 5 days a week so want a comfy pair for it). My friend has the Icon X and I have used them many times on my iphone macbook and i love them/ just wasnt sure how to feel about not being able to get the app on my phone. so i can pair to his phone and edit them and then pair them back to my phone with same settings? I dont know if i want completely wireless or bluetooth such as jaybird x4, beats x and such. Such a hard decisiona nd my main lean is toward the icon x (but was told they may be coming out with new ones soon??)

Yes you can change the equalization settings turn on and off the live hearing/assistive hearing change the tap behavior basically all settings that can be changed via the app will carry over. I've done it on my pixel 2 xl then paired them to my iPhone X and the settings have remained. They at times work better than my airpods ironically when connected to my iPhone. Another feature of the icon x is you can store music on the buds themselves..they can be transferred over WiFi on Android or via USB on a Mac..so if ur working out and don't have ur phone u have some music..or if ur on a flight and turn ur phone off u can just play music u have stored from the buds..they're my favorite pair of truly wireless buds that I own or have owned so far.

Thank you for the comments! Really helping out - I am really leaning towards these truly wireless ones over most.Still curious if they are coming out with a new pair sometime soon that I should wait for though?

I have been checking out the Jaybird X4 and a few pairs like that and just cant make a decision.

Well most insiders in the industry feel that if they were going to be announced this year it would have been during the iPhone event or after the airpower was released this year...but now no one knows when the airpower is being released or if its still going to be...latest I heard is that the new airpods would be announced later in 2019. So I'm not expecting the new airpods for a while.
