Bluetooth is always connected

Hi,

On my Early 2013 13" Retina, the Bluetooth icon is always connected. I tried turning off handoff but until I turn off the bluetooth on my iPhone it stays connected even though I'm not using anything via Bluetooth.

Most of my searches on google led me to BT and 10.10 problems but my AirDrop and similar services work finely so no problem on that side.

Is this a normal behavior?
