My 2017 13" MacBook Pro (4 thunderbolt ports) is experiencing bluetooth issues while plugged into an LG 27UK850-W monitor via USB-C (single cable carries both power and video). It's currently running Big Sur 11.4. I'm using the USB-C cable that came with the monitor.
In particular, my Bose headphones disconnect frequently and register between 30-50% bluetooth signal strength (measured using Bluetooth Inspector). When the laptop is unplugged, they register 100% and there are no disconnections. My AirPods suffer from a similar fate. The issue persists regardless of whether the laptop is open or closed, but only whether or not it is connected to the monitor.
I've tried the following so far (none of which has worked):

I've tried the following so far (none of which has worked):
- resetting the PRAM and SMC
- resetting the bluetooth module and re-pairing all devices
- restarting the computer
- plugging the monitor into the different four USB-C ports
- moving the laptop away from the monitor
- moving the headphones closer to the laptop
