Hi all,

I have a Late 2008 MBP that's just started to have an issue with its bluetooth module. About a month ago I replaced the superdrive as it had completely stopped working. I managed to successfully replace it and it works perfectly now.

When I put the MBP back together I noticed on boot up into OSX the bluetooth and airport had stopped working it said not available. I decided to power down and open up my MBP again and check my connections. After doing that the airport and bluetooth had started to work again thank god.

After a month down the line I sometimes get a bluetooth "not available" on boot up. This is usually fixed by a reboot or the various other fixes like resetting the PRAM or unplugging the battery etc. However the other day these didn't work I had to open up the MBP and check connections. This did work as I managed to boot up with the case open and the bluetooth was working. However when I put the case back on and put the screws back in the bluetooth had stopped working again.

I've managed to fix the problem for now, but what's to stop it happening again? I'm afraid that if i move the MBP the bluetooth may stop working. Does this sound like the bluetooth module needs replacing? Or is it a lose connection? Does anyone know where the bluetooth module is on the late 2008 MBP's? maybe I could check the connection myself.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Many Thanks

Paul
