I just got two Logi mice to try, apparently compatible with my Macbook pro 16" (2019, Catalina 10.15.7).

None of them appear in mac's Bluetooth pref window. I tried everything from debug->remove devices, reset, NVRAM reset, restart etc.

They work, however, using the USB3 unifying mini dongle, connected via usb c adapter.

It's not very comfortable as I move a lot and can see myself accidentally bending the adapter or worse messing up the mac's usb port. Since the mac already has a Bluetooth receive inside... is there any way to use it instead of having to rely on this usb unifier?

My recommendation is that you "make accommodation" for the unifying receiver, and keep using it. It will work better than bluetooth...

I have the same mouse working fine. If you have them for multiple computers, switch profile on it and really hold that connect button for more than 3 seconds.
Also my MB didnt find it while searching in "Mouse" menu, but found it while searching for Bluetooth devices

Hey, thanks for helping out! I'm only using it for my MBP. To confirm, does yours connects without the unifier? What's your OS version?
Can you clarify what's button I have to hold?

This is where I look, but it's not showing the mouse:

I am on 12.1, running without unifier. What's the full name of your mouse? I have MX Master 2S so I have "connect" button on the bottom of the mouse.

Logitech MX Vertical.

Try adding the mouse for the mouse settings rather than the Bluetooth menu.
Not showing either :\

Is it just a thing of updating the OS or just not supported by mac's Bluetooth chip...?

did you try to press the connect button for couple more seconds? try searching for official logitech pairing setup if there is something you missed

Tried long press, short, all "channels"... Regarding official docs I found this:

Although this mouse only has the channel's button, it seems that you can either connect using the receiver or directly if you have Bluetooth Smart, right?
I found thatBluetooth Smart is 4.0 which implemented the Low energy feature. Logitech's mouse page also shows it as a requirements:

I'm running macOS 10.15.7 and Bluetooth 5:

I'd return this mouse to buy one that doesn't need this bulky receiver (plus usb adapter), but I don't know what to look for.

Do you have a different bluetooth version maybe?

I have MX master 2S and 2x MX master anywhere 2s (one in work one in home) , and they all work with bluetooth only, they all have small usb receiver in my gaming pc so thats why I only use them with bluetooth on my MBP

but yeah return it and try different one, but its weird that it's not working with your mac
