Hi everyone,

This article http://www.cringely.com/2013/09/19/the-secret-of-ios-7/ seems to imply that iOS 7 now contains Bluetooth mouse support. Does anyone know if that is actually true? Unfortunately I don't have my own bluetooth mouse to try it with.

Thanks!

Interesting.

Previously the only way to get bluetooth mouse capability was via jailbreak (BTC Mouse).

This could help a lot for those who have an iPad + logitech ultrathin keyboard + bluetooth mouse to simulate a more traditional computer experience.

Thanks for the heads up mike! :)

Do you happen to have a mouse that you could test it with? I'd love to know if it works!

Waitwhatnow? That's kind of a big deal for a certain subset of users I'll refer to as "me." Someone needs to test this immediately. I would but I don't own a bluetooth mouse.

I'm also having a hard time believing this is accurate. Would Apple really do this, and if so why would it be a completely unknown feature we're just hearing about now?

yes, theoretically any bluetooth mouse should if its built into ios 7.

I'm not holding my breath though until someone here confirms it.

i did confirm it. The bt mouse connects but does nothing.

The Magic Trackpad is not recognized by the iPad

Just tried it and my iPhone 5 on iOS 7 isn't seeing my Magic Trackpad at all. I'm calling BS. How in the world would something like this go unnoticed?

I guess he mixed up controller support with mouse support :(. Damn, got my hopes up.

Could you imagine how awesome that bluetooth mouse trick that would be with an Apple TV and iPad (w/ bluetooth keyboard of course)?

Of course Apple would never allow it, they might actually lose a few (higher priced) mac customers then :p
