Hello. Recently, I tried to send a file from my wife's android phone (as has been done many times in the past) to my iMac, running High Sierra. Every attempt was met with an alert, on the phone, that said "Transfer failed". When I tried to do the same with my own android phone, these transfer attempts also failed. Yet, both phones will send and receive files to and from each other.

When I first tried this, the bluetooth icon over my screen said: Bluetooth not available. So, I restarted the iMac, and the icon seemed OK again. However, the file still would not transfer.

In System Preferences, bluetooth is turned on. In Sharing, Bluetooth sharing is ticked, just as it has always been. I always have Bluetooth File Exchange open, even though I am not sending a file from the iMac — just trying to receive one.

Can anyone suggest a cure for this failure?

With thanks in advance,
C.H.
