Bluetooth-PDA-sync - What Is It?

Hey,

I open Blutooth preferences in my rMBP and when to the Advanced tab
and Bluetooth-PDA-Sync was checked on. I unchecked it because I don't use any bluetooth device. Why was this checked and what is this device(Type Modem)
