Another option

If you already have a printer, and you just want to do short range wireless printing, check out the bluetooth printer adapters or the RF printer kit (bluetooth) at the Best Buy web site. These are made for USB printers (in case you have one sitting around).

Bluetooth printing is not supported by Mac OS X at this time. This is Apple's current official statement.

My good friend with a G4 iBook just had delivered an HP 450 wbt (wireless bluetooth with battery) to be told by Apple that it is HP's problem and be told by HP that it is Apple's problem.

Some poeple have had success printing to file and then sending the file over bluetooth to a device which happens to be the printer. As far as I know this only works with postscript printer files. If anyone has details please let me know.

There are solutions out there that connect computer and printer over bluetooth and claim to be OS X compatible

This is the one I found

The other thing that I have been reading is that printing over bluetooth is very slow. I've heard that anything with images can stall the printer.

While I am still trying to find a solution for my friend, my suggestion at the moment would be to wait.

Ciao, Mark
