I have a brand spanking new stock standard iBook 12" G4, added ram to 640mb. I understand that BT is available somehow if you pre-ordered it that way. Can anyone tell me if I can have BT added to the iBook rather than use a USB-BT dongle or whatever?? Thanks.

I've heard that it is possible but the cost will probably make you wince a bit.

Since they have to take your iBook apart so that they can solder the Bluetooth module into the USB circuitry. By the time you see the costs of labor the module itself the little dongle will look like a good idea. :)

Unless you have money to burn of coarse ;)

<edit>

Also it might void your warranty unless it was done by an apple dealer.

Point taken, I'll keep the cash!

BTW, Dunedin is so cold that often times I have slept in the fridge on a winter's night just to keep warm... :)

Are you aware of the USB BT device from D-Link? The Apple store has them in stock for about $30.00. It's not so much a dongle, but looks more like a Memory Stick Duo. It's the smallest I've seen so far...
