I’m looking for something very specific and am wondering if anyone knows whether it exists...a Bluetooth receiver for my bookshelf speakers to use with my Apple TV 4s that lets you change the name it broadcasts to other devices.
I have three Apple TVs in the house and with two of them, I usually use bookshelf speakers in the same room that are connected to the tv wirelessly through Airplay (using an airport express). However, since iOS 11 I’ve noticed some audio lag, in that the audio doesn’t align with the video properly and is a second or two behind. This doesn’t happen to my Bluetooth headphones so I thought I’d try switching my speakers over to Bluetooth from airplay.
However, I’ve tried a few adapters I’ve found off amazon and the problem is they all broadcast the same generic name, which makes it really confusing when I’m trying to connect a tv to the speakers in the same room. Since iOS/tvOS doesn’t let us change the name of Bluetooth devices like macOS does, does anyone know of an adapter that allows you to change the name it broadcasts to other devices either through its own app or something?
Any advice would be appreciated.
