I've never seen anything like this, but here's an idea that I wish someone from Apple would implement. I'm sure the marketers could make this look even sexier:
Problem: I have a two or three computers and an iPad all running and all of which could use a bluetooth keyboard. I've already set them all up to use this keyboard. I want to keep a clean desk and move between connections from this keyboard to the devices quickly and easily. The problem is now, I have to manually disconnect the "bluetooth connection" from one device, then connect to another, and this usually involves turning Bluetooth off on one device - just to make sure it works...
Solution: Fast BT Device switching. Why can't I easily switch my BT connection from a keyboard to different computers/devices? I'm sure the steps to disconnect from one and connect to another could be better automated. I'm sure an Apple hardware engineer design a button or light to note the peripheral is "connected" or "switching" or "disconnecting" along with all the other signals the peripherals currently make.
If I could trigger this from the device - I'd then be able to watch the little "connected"/"disconnected" animations on a computer screen to see which one get disconnected, and which one get connected.
Piece of cake. Should be more a software than hardware solution. Please do this Apple, or I'd be happy to work as a contractor for a couple of weeks to do it for you I'd start with keyboards and mice, but you might want to keep going from there.
Thanks!
EDIT:
Here's another scenario:
I'm in my bluetooth enabled car, driving with a friend. I make and complete a call to one of my friends where we can all easily talk via hands free... This works today.
Now she wants to make a call using the BT capabilities of the car, but she can't! The car is BT-attached to my phone. We therefore make an important call on her phone, can't hear very well because or road noise, and wind up missing important directions from that phone call and get lost on the backroads of Montana.
