As Airplay seems to still be in it's infant stages and my lack of an up to date iPhone, could anyone recommend a portable bluetooth speak for my medium-sized apartment? Willing to spend 100-150. Have seen that the Supertooth Disco has gotten decent reviews (http://amzn.to/wvchof), and seems powerful enough, but am not convinced of the sound quality.

Cheers!

I have the Logitech Wireless Boombox in my office:

It might be a tad too big to be truly portable, and I can't vouch for the sound quality when running on battery power (I always leave it plugged in), but I listen to my iPhone music through this nearly every day and I think it sounds great. Pairs with my iPhone super easy and can get much louder than I'd ever want it to be. It's one of the few purchases I've made where I can't think of a single complaint.

Thanks for the response. It doesn't have to be incredibly portable - just easy to move around within the house (bedroom to kitchen, etc.) without trailing a load of leads.
Will def. check out the Logitech speaker you have - I think they have one in radioshack near me.
No one has had experience with the Supertooth?

I absolutely love the Monster iClarity I bought last year. And it appears to be discounted now on Amazon: http://www.amazon.com/gp/aw/d/B003TFEHYI/ref=mp_s_a_2?qid=1328764635&sr=8-2

It's been terrific for me in every way....travels well, great battery life, good volume & sound quality, Bluetooth connection is easy & reliable. I use it out in my big yard for parties, so a medium size apartment shouldn't be a problem. Unless you like stuff REALLY loud, maybe.

Thanks for the suggestions guys! I need a little more power than perhaps I made apparent initially so have ordered the supertooth. Will report back with a review when it arrives!

Re:Bluetooth Speaker for iPhone/Macbook

I maybe a little late, but i did find this speaker. Really good though.

Bought it a little while ago for my studio space to connect to my Macbook Pro or iPhone, extremely portable and really powerful speaker for its size.

Kinda gutted that i paid £30 at http://www.mobilefun.co.uk/soundwave-sw50-bluetooth-speaker-phone-black-p33955.htm

but then i found it yesterday for £20! In all fairness at that price, i would of bought 2!

Hope it helps.

Thanks SDkav - looks a great deal! I did go ahead and order the Supertooth. It is a really good speaker and perfect for what I needed to go between my bedroom and kitchen. Sound is good. Goes downhill a little at top volume through bluetooth but this problem dissapears when I connect it directly.
Would def. recommend it!
