Not sure if this is the correct forum for this problem that and I'm somewhat gadget illiterate so please bear with me.

Just purchased a new Bluetooth speaker, the EcoXGear, I like the fact that it's supposedly waterproof/shockproof however when I have my iPhone 4s running iOS6 playing music it continually pauses for a brief moment maybe best described as a hiccup or blink every five to ten minutes. It is a replacement to another Bluetooth speaker that I don't recall ever doing this.

Searching through the Apple forums I have found similar threads but they are all dated 2012 - so I am assuming the problem has be fixed I must be missing how to fix it. I have made sure that all apps on the iPhone have been closed double tapping the home button and turning them off. I have also parred the speaker with my Macbook and went through an entire TV show without any hiccups.

Any insights into this problem would be welcome. My two main questions are how to fix via software upgrade on my end or if this model of speaker is not truly compatible and the hiccups will always be there? Having just purchased it I can return it to the store.

Again any insights or help would be very appreciated.

Thanks

p.s. the reason I placed this question in this forum was through my searching one recent answer suggested updating to iOS7 - something I would rather not do at the moment - but it would be nice to know if this was a true fix.
