Anyone using any portable or semi-portable Bluetooth speakers with your iDevices that you like? What I want is probably impossible. I'm looking for not much over 100 bucks, without over-emphasized bass, and solid midrange. I listen to rock music, not dance music, so I have no need for any pumping bass or anything.

Check the Fugoo Bluetooth speaker, $135 shipped

I bought a Sony SRS X3 for the past couple of months and love it. It's got just th right amount of bass and the highs are extremely crisp. It's a little heavier than say a Jawbone Jambox that it replaced but still very portable. He street price is around $120-130 which is slightly over your budget but I think it's very much worth it.

Lots of great ideas in here. I ordered a UE Mini Boom, based a lot on form factor, $69 price, and solid reviews. If I end up not liking it I'll take a look at the Sony X3 or X5, the Boom, or maybe some of the other suggestions above. Anyone have a Mini Boom?

I don't have a Mini Boom, but I listened to it along with the Boom when I was deciding. I got the Boom, and love it.

I tried out a Bose Soundlink Color at Best Buy the other day, and it had surprisingly good sound for it's size. It's slightly higher than your price range, at 129.99, but worth trying out, if you have a Best Buy close to you.

Personally, I have a Bose SoundLink Mini ($199) and it's one of the best sounding portable speakers. I would 100% recommend them if it wasn't double the price you were looking for.

Bluetooth speakers?

I got my UE Mini Boom today and I'm quite pleased with it. Enough bass for me, but I actually don't like booming bass. I got a black/black one and just ordered a red/black one so I can pair 'em up in stereo! I really love how tiny it is. Definitely great sound especially considering its size. Just enough weight to feel solid, not enough weight to be a drag to carry around with you.

This probably isn't as large as what you had in mind, but I have the JBL clip. It is about the size of a hockey puck, is rechargeable, and plays for about 5 hours on a charge, and it's only around $50. Bought mine to use while disc golfing, but use it all the time for other activities. Amazing volume for how small it is!

it is better then my big jambox.
too bad these re out of your price range. they are great little speakers and much better stereo separation. I have had them hooked to a airport express and now a sonos connect. or bluetooth.

Go with the JBL Flip 2. You can tap the top to pair with your iPhone 6 because it has the NFC chip. The sound fills the room and gives you plenty bass. You can make conference calls too. Small portable.

Or Jambox

If you want loud, dont get a Jambox unless you get the big one. I have one, got it used off the forums for $65.

It sounds great, but if you need to fill a room with sound, get something bigger.

I'm surprised no one mentioned Anker yet. I've had the smaller one and the sound was so good i went ahead and ordered a bigger one from the same company. Awesome sound and great battery life . I get 15 hrs on one charge

Wow 15 hours?

I may try, if I get an invitation, the Amazon Echo, I understand from the reviews that its a pretty decent sounding blutooth speaker and then it does other things as well, $99 if you are a prime member.

I'm still absolutely loving the UE Mini Boom I got. Exceeded my expectations big time. Got two on sale at Amazon for $69 a piece. They don't seem to be on sale at the moment though.
