Does anybody know what the 3 dots across the bluetooth symbol mean. The bluetooth symbol itself is dim and the 3 dots are highlighted. Bluetooth seems to be working ok.
 
You can install Growl (a central notification system) + Hardwaregrowler (in the same dmg) to debug what keeps your bluetooth connection open. Hardwaregrowler will notify you (through growl) about changes in hardware (ie. USB mouse attached, harddrive removed and Bluetooth devices (un)paired). A growl message looks like this:

I have had a wireless mouse and keyboard for over a year and just started seeing these 3 dot for about one to two weeks.
