I have a FitBit Ultra which syncs via BT 4.0, but its very unreliable. On my iPhone 5, the Bluetooth icon is sometimes grey, sometimes totally gone. If I go into settings and turn BT off and on again the icon will come back and sometimes sync, sometimes it still won't.

I'm wondering if its the phone, the fitbit, or just BT is unreliable? Not sure that I shouldn't try a restore of the phone or not.

Any ideas? What does the icon mean? Should it always show in the statusbar? Or only when it's connected? What does the grey icon mean instead of the white icon?

Thanks

The grey icon means that Bluetooth is enabled, but not presently connected to another device.

Are you sure it's not a FitBit One that you have?

Yea, it's a FitBit One, my mistake.

I kind of thought that the grey icon was on, but not connected. Why does mine go away completely, is it supposed to turn off completely when not in use? It's getting old having it not sync, cycling it on/off to try o get it o sync, taking forever to sync, etc.

Any suggestions? I don't even know how to tell if its the phone or the fitbit with the issues.

I wonder I'd the FitBit disconnects to save power then reconnects later.

You should contact FitBit support and then report back here. I'll be getting a new FitBit myself pretty soon to sync to my iPhone 5.
