No to Blu-ray and major advancements, yes to buy now.

Don't expect Blu-Ray any time soon. They are too thick and too expensive to put in the MPB right now. Although it probably is a priority of Apple's, I'm sure they notice they aren't selling well in the competitive PC laptops. On the other hand, major advancements are usually right around the corner, especially with Apple. Don't get caught up in the waiting game. Its technology. I'd say buy now.
