Has anyone here ventured into the land of BD Burners yet? I'm looking into one to backup my photo catalog(I am a photographer), I shoot in RAW and haven't really heard much about them. I have a MacBook Pro, and would need an external drive.

Any advice would be helpful!

I had one in my old pc but I never used it. Really I would buy a portable external hard drive instead. A blu ray disk is $25 for 25gb but a 500gb portable hd is $100. So you spend a $100 on 4 bluray disks and only get 100gb compared to 500gb. Also bluray burners run about $200 for the laptop versions so your could buy 2 500gb hd with that.

I have external hard drives as well, but I was thinking about other options as well.

From what I saw before, the media for BD was much cheaper then $25.00 per disk.

You can get a 10 pack of disks for $30.00. That is pretty reasonable.

Where did you find this? When I was looking a few moths ago they were $25. Given I was looking at sony brand or memorex because the no-name brands on ebay have problems where most are unrightable or the just dont work after awhile.

I was looking at NewEgg.com and SuperMediaStore.com. They were not no-name brand. I believe I saw Verbatim at that price.
