I'm new to the world of Mac and have been enjoying the experience so far.

One of my problems however is the fact that all my .avi video files seem to be more blurry than they were on my WinXP machine?

On my WinXP machine I had CCCP and VLC installed.

On my new Mac I have VLC installed. It is however significantly more fuzzy and less focused on the Mac for some reason?

Complaining that your .avi video files are fuzzy in VLC is meaningless. Video quality depends on a lot of variables--the most important of which are the source files themselves. Also important are their pixel densities, the codecs used to decode them, your VLC settings and many other things. If you want help, then you should give specific information.
