Need som help here, i connected an external display to my Macbook Pro 15" Retina today and noticed directly that everything looks very blurry on the connected monitor. The monitor is a Dell 2408WFP and runs in native resolution 1920x1200. But it never looked like this when i used it as primary monitor with my PC. Something must be wrong and i can't figure out what?

The monitor is connected via HDMI to my MPB.

Does anyone have some advice on how i can make the Dell monitor look sharper because right now, it gives me a headache.

Are you running macOS Mojave? If so, the font smoothing changes for non-Retina displays is likely the cause of this.

There are a couple things you can do to fix this in Terminal, which are detailed in the article at the link below. I have similar Dell monitors for my computer at work and after testing out a bit, I found that strong font smoothing (3) worked best for my setup and everything looks as it should now.

Yes, i am running Mojave and after trying the strong font smoothing value 3, it looks better no doubt but still not as good as i was hoping for. But i guess the monitor is the limitation and i will need to get a new better monitor with higher resolution than 1920x1200 if i want supersharp fonts.

But thanks anyways, definitely an improvement from earlier.
