Bogus Downgrade and Jailbreak video (3gs)?

Okay he has two videos...

he says he unjailbroke is 3.1.2, upgraded to 3.1.3; I know you can downgrade/jailbreak if you have previously jailbroke and had files on Cydia, but in the second video (2 min in) when he uses redsn0w he chooses not to install cydia, so it would appear to a noobie like me that he couldnt have used any backup files from cydia since he didnt install it...

So is this bogus/does it rely on cydia even though it didnt appear he installed cydia?

The files are not stored in Cydia but on a third-party server.
How would you expect your SHSH to help you restore if you needed cydia on your phone?

Ive seen these exact videos posted about before. he says he didnt THINK he had SHS with saurik but in a later video he mentions he did.
So if you have previously jailbroken this is the same method that everybody knows....
