Hi Guys,

i got a little problem with Boinx TV, the video stream is not fluent in 1920x1080 (even single video alone). 2 Blackmagic Intensity Pro cards should arrive soon as i plan to connect the Canon through Component (because of the Firewire delay) and another HDMI or Component device to the Blackmagic cards.

Mac Pro (Clovertown)
8x3 GHZ (1. Gen.)
3 GB Ram (not enough?)
8800GT (bad drivers?)

Canon XH A1, connected through Firewire.

CPUs are not maxed out, is the 8800GT the problem or the Firewire Connection? I also got a spare x1900xt here.

Or does BoinxTV only need more CPU Power?

It would be nice if somebody with a similar setup could give it a try. I am kinda hooked on streaming live in SD and afterwards having a nice quality HD Stream to encode for later video on demand.

Gonna plug in the ATI x1900xt today so we can rule out that (although its not the latest modell).

Greetings

update1:
I plugged in my old x1900xt, it got 13 frames compared to my 14 with the 8800gt.

Then i thought about turning down my own display resolution (got a 2560x1600 one).

And then it was much more fluid 22.32 Frames, so still dropped frames but only some.

I guess i should get the new ati 4870 card if i experience the same problem with the blackmagic intensity pro cards?

You're not using any external harddrives are you?

Hi huntercr,

no i am using 4 internal Sata SAMSUNG HD501LJ in Raid 0.

I already see frame drops in preview in boinxtv without recording.

After tinkering around a bit i can say that Wireshark has zero problems when running in 1080 HDV and is rock solid.

Yes it isnt as fancy as boinxtv but it works very well (streaming client integration, nice use of my 8 cores).

Interface is minimalistic and very fast.
