Wanted to pass along a tip, but didn't see a thread with this exact problem to respond...
I was setting up an HP Photosmart C7100 series to print wirelessly from a Macbook running OS X version 10.6.8. At first I tried setting it using Internet Printing Protocol (IPP) and everything seemed to be going well. I put in the URL for the printer from its own network settings and was able to print a test page and view ink levels. However, when it came to printing documents from any program all I got was "Network host is busy..." After several failed attempts I discovered from a help forum that I should have been looking in the "Default" window of the printer set up window for a Bonjour printer connection.
The first time I attempted to set up using Bonjour I found the printer name there and clicked on it, then attempted to pick the print software from the drop-down menu. At this point the printer disappeared from the Default printers list and I couldn't get it back. I tried rebooting both the computer and printer but Bonjour just wouldn't detect it again.
Finally, I tried re-establishing the wireless network connection on the printer, in the hopes that it would send a new signal for Bonjour to detect on the Macbook. That worked! As soon as I picked the correct SSID and WPA password on the printer front control panel, it showed up again in the Default printer window. This time I kept the default printer software option and everything installed.
It may be a useful trick for other wireless Bonjour devices, to get them to appear on the list just try resetting the device's own wireless connection.
